3. Interview with classmate "1"

Q: What is your opinion on vanishing/vanished trades?

A: Vanishing trades can be bad for the history of Singapore as such trades that were in the past got Singapore to where it is now from a fishing port back in the 1800s. Vanishing trades such as (...) were traded as a way for Singaporeans to earn money. Vanishing trades such as stamps that were once sold are now available in musuems to remind Singaporeans of their historical values.

Q: What is one vanishing/vanished trade that you know?

A: Stamps

Q: What can teenagers do to preserve these trades?

A: They can actually try to stop improving technology and keep using old school stuff. I mean if people back then survived on it then why can't we right?

4. Interview with classmate "2"

Q: What is your opinion on vanishing/vanished trades?

A: Those trades only happen in the olden days but nowadays, technology are getting richer and richer. So vanishing trades usually are hand-made. So now we should treasure those trades that are still available.

Q: What is your favourite vanishing/vanished trade?

A: Lantern painting

Q: What can teenagers do to preserve these trades?

A: Teenagers can learn more from Mother Tongue Fortnight(or other special programmes in their schools). So we can suggest more programmes like that.

5. Group member 2's friend

Q: What is your opinion on vanishing/vanished trade?

A: Hmmm..... for vanishing trades, I think it's because there's lesser and lesser traders trading that particular item, and it has lesser value price nowadays so there's lesser traders willing to trade that?

Q: What is one vanishing trade that you know?

A: Dairy man

Q: What do you think teenagers can do to preserve these trades?

A: They can look up about it and if they are interested in it, they can maybe learn about it and then start up their businesses? And maybe they could improve on stuffs which can captivate people more?

6. Group member's classmate

Q: What is your opinion on the vanishing/vanished trades in Singapore?

A: I think that it's a quite a shame that they're disappearing/have disappeared because in my opinion, they are what represents Singapore in the olden times, when she was still developing.

Q: What do you think you can do to preserve these trades?

A: I'm not sure if there's much I can do, as it takes two hands to clap so even if I make a huge effort, others may not. However I can visit these trades and spread awareness to others. And now that there're more than two hands, there's a higher chance that we can preserve the trades.
